Invertebrate surveys allow us to understand the status of species populations, not just what is caught. Data, such as abundance and length, are used to calculate stock densities and track sizes and help develop management strategies for the sustainable use of fisheries resources.

Pacific Harbour, Fiji - A book launch was held in Pacific Harbour, Fiji on the occasion the European Union (EU) -Pacific Policy Dialogue Roundtable on oceans meeting, led by the Pacific-European Union Marine Partnership (PEUMP) Programme with the participation of national delegates and programme partners.
The By-catch and Integrated Ecosystem Management (BIEM) Initiative hosted a one-hour side event on the final day of the 10th Pacific Islands Conference − Nature Conservation and Protected Areas, which was held virtually from 24 to 27 November, 2020. The side event provided an opportunity to update on progress of the turtle extinction risk assessment for the Pacific islands region.
