Invertebrate surveys allow us to understand the status of species populations, not just what is caught. Data, such as abundance and length, are used to calculate stock densities and track sizes and help develop management strategies for the sustainable use of fisheries resources.

Pacific Harbour, Fiji - A book launch was held in Pacific Harbour, Fiji on the occasion the European Union (EU) -Pacific Policy Dialogue Roundtable on oceans meeting, led by the Pacific-European Union Marine Partnership (PEUMP) Programme with the participation of national delegates and programme partners.
Representatives from five Pacific island countries have been in Nadi this week to begin the development of regional and national plans to implement the European Union (EU) funded Pacific-European Union Marine Partnership (PEUMP) programme By-catch and Integrated Ecosystem Management (BIEM) component, to ensure that it contributes to achieving national and regional objectives and meets the needs of national governments and coastal communities.
