PEUMP LMMA Small grants financial management manual

This manual was developed by the Pacific-European Union (EU) Marine Partnership (PEUMP) programme to provide clear financial management guidelines for recipients of the PEUMP Locally Managed Marine Area (LMMA) grant. The guidance provided in this manual was vetted through dedicated training sessions delivered to grant recipients, to support their understanding and effective application of these requirements.

The PEUMP LMMA grant, funded jointly by the EU and Government of Sweden, is administered by the Pacific Community (SPC). SPC has specific requirements for grant management and financial reporting. It is compulsory for grant recipients to follow these to meet grant management and financial expectations. This manual outlines the requirements at each stage of the grant’s financial management process, ensuring compliance with SPC’s grant policy.

The primary purpose of this manual is to empower grant recipients with the necessary knowledge and resources to smoothly navigate the financial management aspects of the grant. By providing clear roles and responsibilities, the manual aims to enhance transparency, accountability and accuracy in financial reporting, thereby contributing to the successful implementation of approved grant activities.

By adhering to the guidelines outlined in this manual, grant recipients can streamline their financial management processes, mitigate risks and ensure the successful execution of grant activities in alignment with SPC’s grant policy.
